PTFE Teflon Piston Seal Installation

Step 1.

Ensure the piston is thoroughly cleaned and de-burr/chamfer sharp edges as needed. Cover threads and other sharp edges with tape

Step 2.

Install O-Ring energizer on the piston seal groove ensuring it is not twisted.

Step 3.

Using fingers or a rounded plastic stick, knead the ring over the piston into the groove.

Step 4.

Overstretching can occur and the seal must be reformed to the original size.

Step 5.

Cover the piston seal with shim stock or cardboard then compress with a suitable hose clamp.

Step 6.

Leave compressed for at least 15 minutes. Remove, inspect and repeat as needed.

Step 7.

When inserting the piston into the tube, de-burr/chamfer sharp edges and cover any threads with tape.

Thank you guys the parts were just what I ordered fit my tractor perfectly. I’m gonna need three more sets to rebuild my loader. I just wanted to see if it was going to fit. I’ll be ordering from you again. Thanks very much.
