Case Cylinder Snap In Wiper vs. Press In Wiper
On some of the first Case backhoes, such as the 480 Construction King and the 580 Construction King, getting the right seal kit can depend on what style of Rod Wiper your cylinder takes. The best way to determine this is by looking closely at the part of the cylinder where the rod comes out of the gland. This can be done without taking the cylinder apart because the wiper is the only seal in the cylinder that can be seen from outside of the cylinder. Once you know which style wiper your cylinder takes, you should be able to select the right replacement kit to reseal the cylinder.
